"Get CLASSIFIED!"

"Today's" game plan has definitely changed. We live in a very "visual" society (thanks to smart phones and the speed of the internet) that, it is now more critical to put your best image forward no matter where you are or what you do.
The demands of your personal and professional life are now far beyond the credentials and work ethic, so therefore, it is imperative that you find the right balance that is personalized for you to bring out "your" best.

Why bother to get dressed up?

I admit that I sometimes didn’t look my best everyday for one of the following reasons:

1. I didn’t want to attract too much attention.

2. I wanted to save my "best" outfits for a special occasion.

3. I thought it would take too long to put together.

4. I was comfortable in my "home" clothes and too lazy to change.

5. It was too cold, hot, raining or windy to bother.

I compromised and then you guessed it, I would always see someone that was well put together which created a more impressive and confident version of themselves.
It was only then and after the fact that  I would tell myself that I should have taken the extra 5-10 minutes to look more respectable
and not make excuses again.

It’s a popular saying that what you are on the inside is far more important than the outside, but is it?
What if I told you that balance is the key to looking good and feeling good. Would you agree?

So here is my first tip for you:

Leave a Good Impression by finding the balance between not "Overdoing" or simply "Not Doing Enough".

If you are not sure what your balance is, I WILL HELP YOU FIND AND ACHIEVE IT.

It’s quite simple really,
Look Great…….Feel Great.

lTHE BEST WAYS TO GET READY FOR SPRING/SUMMER  Ahhhhhh, at last….It’s now springtime, although some days it sure doesn’t feel like it but you can certainly smell it in the air.
As the weather warms, I’m only too happy to put my boots away in exchange for my slip on flats and open toe shoes. Make sure to use an oil cleaner on your leather boots to protect them while they are in storage.
There is no urgency to swap your entire wardrobe just yet but certainly start with your shoes, which is also a reminder to book a pedicure soon to show off those bright new spring colors.
Speaking of colors, Pantone color of the year for spring 2019 is living coral. Learn more on the 2019 Spring Fashion Trend report click on the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BigYSIm86zs April 22nd is EARTH DAY and it’s a great time to switch to green products. I’ve found some inexpensive green products on this list:

Last but least on your April to do list, time for a natural detox to help you fit back into that summer wardrobe. It’s recommended to do a detox twice per year under the supervision of a health coach or practitioner. Taking care of yourself is always a good thing to do so follow these steps to look and feel healthy again: https://maxliving.com/healthy-articles/natural-body-cleanse
Now Get ready for the change of seasons and with
Memorial Day right around the corner, it's a great time to reassess and reorganize your wardrobe or closet.
Let's shake off the dark tones of winter together and spring into the seasons of warmth and light to once again ....enjoy being the best version of you!

1-Straighten your Posture when you walk, stand or sit. Body Language says a lot (especially in your pictures) and creates a lasting impression. What is your impression of others who exhibit good posture?
2-Smile-Your Facial Expressions, voice, the way you listen and how you respond in gestures also creates an impact. Acknowledge something positive in the other person or the environment. As a personal Stylist, I can advise you that A SMILE IS THE BEST THING YOU WILL EVER WEAR!
3-Grooming-Having healthy hair, Glowing skin, and Clean nails are good but don’t forget to wear cologne or perfume.
4-Dress well-Wear Proper fitting and image flattering clothes. Make sure you are dressed “right” for the occasion . Also, you should know your BEST colors. The key is to having quality pieces over quantity!
5-Have a plan- Plan your wardrobe or have it organized in a way that will save you time and money. Also an organized closet saves from stress of not knowing what to wear and feeling unsure of oneself.
6-Use Accessories-Ties, Scarves, Jewelry can give a multitude of options and allow one to dress down or dress up when managing multiple events, for example, that after work DATE.
7-Avoid distractions-Patterns that are too loud can create noise  and distract from your image.
8-Be comfortable in your skin-Avoid wearing anything that you will be fixing all day so that you are reminded of body imperfections or image issues. Dress in a way that is always flattering and comfortable.
9-Touch up is often necessary-Have a pouch in the car with toiletries for touch ups or accidents for hair ,makeup or a wardrobe option.
10-Use a full length mirror-Backup a bit to check yourself out from a distance to admire the whole look.

Tips on transitioning from Winter to Spring:

April 2017

Here in Massachusetts, the days have varied between 38F-78F with the onset of Spring. As wintertime winds down and you wish start thinking about doing some heavy duty cleaning, you might want to start with your closet.
This is a great time to consider downsizing by creating “donate” and “keep” bins. This is not a good time to sell winter wear as all Consignment Shops are liquidating their winter stock to make room for Spring Clothes so it’s best to put those items “to sell” away and sell them in September or October instead.
Make sure to leave out those pieces you can use as layers and definitely use your heavy colorful scarves for warmth instead of heavy sweaters and coats.
Starting at the beginning of March, the first thing I usually do is put away half of my winter wardrobe, especially those with the fall tones and colors like Burnt Reds, Browns and Purple (although bright purples and plums can be worn for spring).
I do still keep my boots out as the weather in New England requires it.
The other thing I like to start doing is wearing spring makeup and nail polish. Its’ more fun and exciting and puts me in the mood for spring!
If you’re tempted to buy new clothes, consider what trends are coming into season and what colors will be wearing. I will be posting on what the trends on my social media pages but in the meantime it’s best to hold off as long as possible unless you truly find something you really need.
Maybe if you have the time and patience, this is a great time to evaluate your spring/summer wardrobe. The perfect time to determine the “keep”, “donate” or “sell” items. You should make sure everything that you are keeping fits right, no presence of stains, missing buttons, or broken zippers etc, but this is the best time to get it taken care of.
If you don’t have the time or patience for all of the above, consider hiring a closet organizer or image consultant. You will certainly appreciate the ease of getting dressed for any event and definitely looking and feeling your BEST! - Lisa Malmgren/Classified Image Consultant
